It seems that year after year the BCS somehow deprives us of a LSU-USC match-up and instead send LSU to the Sugar Bowl and USC to the Rose Bowl. Who's to blame for college football fans being deprived of seeing a game between the two most dominant forces in today's world of college football?

It's been obvious since the 2003 season that the two have been on a collision course, there's definitely an off the field rivalry present, and both schools seem to hate each other. Yet the BCS doesn't provide the match up that everyone in craving for. Why?

In 2003 we all know that USC should of gotten the nod over Oklahoma

In 2005 LSU was a Texas loss and a SEC championship win away from a date with USC

In 2006 every LSU fan in the world wanted to see LSU in the Rose Bowl playing USC, but instead the Rose Bowl wanted a "Traditional Match up" of Michigan vs. USC.

and In 2007 LSU-USC would of been much better match-up than OSU-LSU.

So 4 out of the last 5 seasons I've been deprived of this dream game.

After seeing that BCS bowl games obviously don't want us to play one is asked why don't the schools want to cash in and schedule a 2 year home and away series. Well I want to know the same thing.

This game would be covered by everybody and without a doubt be the most watched Non-conference game of the year every year.

Every single guys like me are looking for every scenario possible to play USC anytime possible, but until then I can only dream.

It will not happen next year but clearly it would be a great match up. If we had a playoff system it would create better football and clearly a true champion. LSU would probally have won anyway last year but at least we would have seen a different team than Ohio State. If my Dawgs can make it... I pray it will be a USC next year and not OSU.

July 15, 2008  01:55 PM ET

I'm hoping that some Pac 10 team besides USC wins the Pac 10 and LSu ends up having a good season and we get to play them in the sugar bowl

July 15, 2008  01:57 PM ET

last year us dawg were hoping for the same thng you were in '06. Of course the "traditional match-up" B.S. interfered, and who knows, if the dawgs and the trojans had played last year, therecould have been duel national champions (dawgs/AP and tigers/BCS)

July 15, 2008  01:57 PM ET

Ohio State and USC will be good this year.

July 15, 2008  02:10 PM ET

a good blowout

July 15, 2008  02:18 PM ET

I think the most likely scenario for this to occur this year is in the Rose Bowl, if SC will the Pac-Ten and LSU gets an at-large bid to that game, because their are no good enough Big Ten teams.

July 15, 2008  02:22 PM ET

YES!! Awesome blog! I have been waiting to hear someone say we needed to see this matchup! Thank the Big Ten (michigan, Ohio State) and Irish for the pu pu platter of BCS games these past couple of seasons. Hawaii?? I guess Boise State is responisble for that.

July 15, 2008  02:22 PM ET

If LSU is eligable for the BCS, they always go to the sugar bowl. so the only way for LSU to make it ot the rose bowl is if the only have 2 losses and and an SEC team doesn't make it to the national title

July 15, 2008  02:23 PM ET

Then an SEc team can take LSU's spot in the sugar bowl and the Rose bowl maybe will grow a brain and choose LSU over a mediocre Big 10 team

July 15, 2008  02:33 PM ET

It would be a cool matchup now but it would have been better if it had been played with those particular teams during the controversy. The game will be interesting but it's different players now. They've all moved on and we will never know for sure who would have won.

July 15, 2008  02:50 PM ET

it's not just the 2003 national championship, it's this one too

July 15, 2008  08:43 PM ET

Hey there again bud...Might I say that after they get stopped again this year, at home this time, by Oregon who many believe will have a better season in '08-'09 than last year, that a match-up between and LSU and Oregon might satisfy your foolish hunger for Pac-10 blood more aptly than pathetic USC? Salute the true and future Kings of the Pac-10 and BCS!! Hail mighty Oregon!!!!

Pronounced... ORYGUN.... for ya'll that never heard it before.

July 15, 2008  09:01 PM ET

Yea, we say it like that down here in the south too Mr. Hayward. The biggest mistakes people around here make is pronouncing the s in Illinois and putting an r in Chicago ie. Chicargo. LSU does play a PAC-10 school in a couple of years. I think it's Washington but I may be wrong. I'll have to check.

Here we go,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

BATON ROUGE ??? LSU will resume a football series with a Pac-10 school next year as the Tigers will open the 2009 season against Washington in Seattle, senior associate athletic director Verge Ausberry announced on Friday

Hunger for Pac 10 blood, I think we're 12-2 against the Pac 10, we're pretty much full.

July 16, 2008  11:41 AM ET

All I am saying is that USC should have done the work to get to the game in 07. That is their fault and no one else. If I am not mistaken , they lost to Cal...I agree with all the other arguments, but not that one. USC fell asleep on the game and OSU did what they were supposed to, win to get in. With that being said, I think an LSU/USC championship would incredible!

July 16, 2008  05:07 PM ET

SEC vs Pac 10 football, all-time, head-to-head record ??? here it is:
The SEC leads the Pac-10 59-37-5 (.609).
However, over the past 10 years (1998 - 2007), the Pac-10 actually leads the SEC 9-6 (.600).

July 16, 2008  06:11 PM ET

Okay ducky, well the SEC has something for everybody this season. No one can deny that this will be the most stacked conference by far. GEAUX Tigers!!!

July 16, 2008  06:59 PM ET

Hold the Pac-10- SEC crap ducky, this is about LSU-USC and nothing else, we don't have a thirst for Pac 10 blood, just the USC's, you can't balme us, in both of our recent national championships USC's got alot of first place votes in the AP poll, and that will put a chip on a fan's shoulder, but of course you wouldn't know,

When was the last time Oregon won a national title agin? Oh yeah, NEVER
