Hey people, and welcome back to the NBA chat club. I took a little break from making these since I made an Elton Brand blog. Go ahead, read it, though it might disagree with some of your perceptions of him. He's not a bad guy! Here's the link to the Brand blog.

As usual, I'm gonna give a shoutout to the few people who helped me make my blogs. Thank you Hllywd for your occasional advice, and thank you J Hova for giving me blogging tips. Thank you to Lakersfan24 for your comments on my blogs. Heat Fan, you've changed your name back to the original, good for you. And he's cutting back on his dumb trade rumors, although he did send me a weird message today. This is a great blog I read about Heat Fan, made by Joe Drinks Dew. Here's the link.

Now moving on to the main topic. AloMarcus Camby's departure may prove to be effective in the long run, but for now has damaged the team's defense even more.t has happened in the NBA since I last wrote an NBA chat club blog. First, and most importantly, Marcus Camby has been dealt to the Clippers in a trade. And what did the Nuggets get? Almost nothing, only a future second round draft pick. Camby is a great shot blocker and rebounder, and at times displays offensive skills. This is obviously proof the Nuggets are trying hard to get under the salary cap and still sign J.R. Smith back. I can assure you that because of this trade, the Nuggets will NOT get a 50 win season next year. Marcus Camby was the defensive man of the defense-less Nuggets. Without him, they loose nearly 4 blocks and 14 rebound per game. This does not mean they won't make the playoffs next year, it just cuts the chances. If they got the 8th seed with him, they won't get more than that without him.

Now, the Clippers, on the other hand, are the happy people in this deal. All season long, the Clippers struggled because of vacancy in the Power Forward spot, and thus Kaman not getting help on defense. Now however, with Marcus Camby back to playing Power Forward and Kaman at center, the post defense of this team will be much better. I earlier didn't think too much of them, with losing 40 points from Maggette and Brand, but now, they have gained one of the best defensive big men in the NBA. He will need to score more than he did with the Nuggets, as the Clippers don't have as many scoring options as Denver did, but I think he still can increase his scoring with them as he does have some offensive skills as I said earlier.

Now back to Philadelphia. With the addition of Brand, and Thadeus Young's playing Small Forward, if they resign Iguodala, he will play shooting guard. There is only one problem with this. Iguodala cannot shoot. He needs to develop a decent mid-range shot first like Dwyane Wade did, and then improve his 3-point game next. If he does this, he will easily be a 23+ point scorer, as he put up 20 points this year without a jump shot. He will be able to pass more now as he has a great post player to feed and he would play guard. However, I think he would be more comfortable in the Small Forward position, in which case he should take an offer from another team to play his natural position. This way, he can still practice his jump shot but won't be forced to use it immediately as he is a forward and can manage without too good a shot for a while.

The Knicks are faced with a horrible dilemna. They have to get rid of Stephon Marbury, but apparently no team particularly wants that big contract of his. If they buy him out, it will cost alot and they still will get nothing for him. However, they should consider sending him to a team for practically nothing, like the Nuggets did with Camby. He is still a decent point guard and can fill in as a role player for some teams, but only if they are willing to take his bloated contract of $21 million just for next year. But if they can keep him in check, they might still improve with him as either a back up point guard or as an average starter. It might not pay off as he still is a jerk and a cancer, and despite his talent, has always fought with teammates and coaches.

Finally, one more thing. I updated this blog to include this. James Posey finally got the 4 year deal he was asking for, as he signs with the Hornets in a 4 year $25 million deal. He will provide instant defense and hit threes with them. The Hornets now have to decide if they are going to start him at shooting guard or small forward(this making Peja playing shooting guard) or simply using him as a 6th man for both positions, as a 6th man can be as important as a starter. He has one 2 championships with 2 teams, and has been a useful bench player in each one, with both the Heat and Celtics. The Hornets are hoping they can win a championship so they have signed him as a very useful role player.

That's it for this edition of the NBA chat club. Everyone, please comment on this. Thanks for reading, and see you next time. Until then, bye!

Good blog and thanks for the love. Honestly, only if the Knicks could find a deal like Denver got for Camby then would I deal Steph. In other circumstances I would never deal Steph for more long term contracts. The Knicks are better off releasing him and eating the money for one more year.

Good job. I don't know if Iguodala would play the two, but I agree with you about developing a three point shot.

...good job...and the nuggets appear to be throwing in the towel just to save a few bucks...what a good deal for the clips, for once....

They absolute should buy Marbury out. Why?

1. The Knicks will have a terrible year with or without Marbury.
2. Gives them more ability to access and develop other talent
3. A huge PR move for the team. The fans would love it and they'd actually rally behind the rebuilding process.
