When the dust clears Barry will be the new home run king. He has struggled but it is clear he will pass Hanks great record. The question will be- Where will he stand in history? He has never tested positive but everyone seems to know he used drugs. Will he be judged as a drug user and stopped from the hall or will we say" innocent until proven guilty"?
I do think it will be proven that he used drugs in the future but he will never test positive now. Even an average hitter can hit 8 more home runs. Barry was a good player but the pressure to win and stay on top has cast a shadow over his long career.
We have Pete out because of a mistake made not as a player and Shoeless out because time has passed and nobody seems to care how wrong he was treated. As far as Barry; Do you think his record will get him a pass or the accusation will be too much for him to get in the hall.
Truth is nobody really likes Barry and if this was Roger or a popular athlete; we would tell people to hush and either proof it with real evidence or move forward. I am not a Barry fan and I do think he cheated. I am just amazed he is tried and convited off hate. It is clear he will pass the great Hank but he will do it without fans, respect and probally a future stop in the Hall of fame. Was it worth it Barry???
