About 2 1/2 months back, EA Sports announced who the cover of Madden09 would feature. Would it be superstar Ladainian Tomlinson, or rookie phenom Adrian Peterson? Would it be the MVP Tom Brady? Or Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning? No, it was retired Packer Brett Favre. To Madden fans and NFL fans, this was preceived to break the "Madden Curse".
Let's take a look at the covers and how they fared.
2001- Eddie George- Worst season of career and had injury problems throughout the season.
2002- Dante Culpepper- He had just 13 TDs and had a season ending injury in week 11.
2003- Marshall Faulk- Injured during the year to go along with the Rams missing the playoffs.
2004- Mike Vick- Injured in the preseason with a season ending injury
2006- Donavon McNabb- His Eagles missed the playoffs for the 1st time in the decade to go along with a sports hernia that ended his season
2007- Shaun Alexander- He missed 6 starts and failed to reach 1,000yds.
2008- Vince Young- Stats got much worse than the previous year.
I'm a little suspect on this whole Madden Curse. So Brett Favre's cover apperance pretty much setteled the deal. But wait. But wait. Now, the ugly mess with the Packers that we all know about. Is it the curse??? In a story that covers every detail from text messages to talk shows, the "Madden Curse" has been left out.

You forgot 2005.
Ray Lewis: Zero interceptions for 1st time in career. And broke his arm towards the end of the season.
