Wizards move Sept. 13 game vs. LA Galaxy to Arrowhead

To welcome Major League Soccer's biggest superstar, the Wizards are taking a step back in time.
The Wizards announced Thursday that their Saturday, Sept. 13 game against the Los Angeles Galaxy, which features British soccer star David Beckham, will move from CommunityAmerica Ballpark, home to their other 14 regular-season games, to Arrowhead Stadium, where the team called home from 1996-2007.
The reason is simple: CommunityAmerica has a seating capacity of 10,385, which suits the Wizards well throughout most of the season. But the world-wide popularity and pop icon status of Beckham promises a far greater ticket demand. The crowd might not fill 80,000-seat Arrowhead Stadium, but last year's Galaxy home game, even without Beckham, who missed much of last season because of injuries, still drew 32,867.
Kickoff time for the game also has changed and will now be at 4 pm. Individual tickets to the Galaxy match will go on sale in mid-August.
