This is my rankings of the best conferences in College Football. I will go from #12 to #1 and will try to explain every pick. Here's the list:
12. Independent - Ok, this really isn't a conference, but I guess I will include it. Navy will have a new head coach this year and Army is the same old Army team it has been since 1997, so the only hope left for Independent fans is Notre Dame, right? Not exactly in my mind. After looking at their schedule I predict that the Fighting Irish will finish with a 6-6 record.
11. Sun Belt - The Sun Belt, also known as "Conference designed for I-AA teams", really doesn't offer that many great teams. Florida International and North Texas are horrible, and the only two good teams in the conference are Troy and Florida Atlantic. Expect both the Trojans and the Owls do dominate the Sun Belt.
10. MAC - The Mid-American Conference is another conference just like the Sun Belt, except that there is really only one good team in this conference: Central Michigan. The Chippewas should easily win the Western Division, but the Eastern Division is up for grabs. It will most likely come down to Miami (OH) and Bowling Green.
9. WAC - The Western Athletic Conference is also a conference that really has one decent team. Hawaii is rebuilding with the loss of Colt Brennan and June Jones, so this leaves the WAC conference in the hands of Chris Petersen and the Boise State Broncos. Fresno State and Nevada could possibly make a run for the conference title, and expect Louisiana Tech to surprise some this year.
8. CUSA - Boy, after writing this blog I've noticed that most of these conferences only have one or two good teams. I cannot, however, say that about the CUSA. There's East Carolina, UCF, Tulsa, UTEP, and now SMU. This conference could be won by any team, and these games will result into classic battles.
7. Mountain West - Without a doubt, The MWC is definately the best non-BCS conference in football. They have BYU, Utah, TCU, and New Mexico just to name a few. BYU will be the best team in the Mountain West this year, and may have a chance to go undefeated.
6. Big East - The Big East contained many surprises last year with Cincinnati and UCONN contending for the conference title and Louisville struggling. This year, however, I think that things will return to normal, as West Virginia will easily win.
5. Big 12 - Let me start off by saying I HATE THE BIG 12! There is only a couple of good teams in the conference and their non-conference schedule is pathetic (Chattanooga, Massachusetts, Arkansas State). The two really good teams in this conference will be Oklahoma and Texas once again, but I think Missouri will win the North and surprise some with a good year once again.
4. ACC - The ACC will have some good teams this year with Virginia Tech, Clemson, and Florida State and the resurgence of Miami (FL) and North Carolina. Virginia Tech should win the Coastal Division and Clemson should win the Atlantic, setting up for an excellent ACC Championship game.
3. Big 10 - When it comes to the Big 10, I immediately think of two schools: Ohio State and Michigan. This year, however, I think that there will be a surprise team that will win the Big 10: Wisconsin. You may wonder why I call Wisconsin a surprise team. Well, any team that beats out Ohio State for the Big 10 title is a surprise team.
2. Pac-10 - The Pac-10 is having a coming-of-age at this point in time, with USC, Cal, Oregon, and my favorite, Arizona State, all having a great possibility of winning the conference. In the end I think it will come down to USC and Arizona State, so mark your calender for October 11th.
1. SEC - Yeah, like this needs an explanation.

I personally think the MAC is the most underrated conference in all of college football. I definitely agree with all the other rankings. It's pretty obvious..even to SEC haters that the SEC is in fact the best pound for pound conference in the Nation. Also, you are 100 percent right about the MWC..that is a fantastic conference.
