Cleaning House

Ever look at your blog total and see that it went down by a couple of numbers? I have. "What happened?" you wonder. Then you remember. That little group that used to exist. You were just helping that guy, giving him a little material for his group. But he left the site. Maybe FN was interfering with his homework or he found a different job where he actually had to work all day. So his account, and the group, just hang there, stagnant. Until one day the moderator decides this group is too inactive and kablooey. Your blog along with the rest of the group is gone.

My desk at work is a mess. I really cannot make heads or tails out of any of this. All I know is that this is a rare day when I don't have a hectic schedule, so I think I'll take care of some of this. Same goes for my time on Fannation. I overextended myself and started leaving little bits and pieces all over the place. So I've got to do a little cleanup. You have to do that every once in awhile though. Everybody does. We leave groups that are too inactive. Ever look through your friends list? I've got folks in there whose accounts have been deleted. Got to get rid of those. Sorry Krobe09, you don't exist anymore. So when I go to my profile page for the next few days, I'll be down a few friends, but these are only friends who don't exist on FN anymore. This is just Cleanup.

Obviously, I enjoy this group, Random Blogging, and thanks to the leader, Cincy, it has kept going. One I will continue to contribute to when I can. It goes without saying Babes, Beer & Sports is my pride and joy, and I won't be leaving that group. "Dang Look at that Hottie" is a fun little group Joker runs. Its always good for some eye-candy. A group that was started almost by accident, Danielle Gamba is Hot!, hasn't had much blogging action lately. I've had trouble finding new pics of her that are post-able (PG-13, SI-safe) but hopefully when her movie comes out we will have some more material. It's a group that has about 75 members, so I'll keep it alive because it has been popular. Please be patient for new news.

Dogs, Pigs and Sheep is one of my favorite groups on the site. Its not about sports, but it really gives insight into some of the sports fans on here, by giving us glimpses into their personalities via what music they like. I will remain a member of this group, and someday I will have to continue my "Five guitarists" blog series there. Fannation Grandpa's has been something of a failure group. Its never really taken off. But it will remain and I'd like to do more with it in the future. Its just a place where folks who have been here awhile can spout off if they want to, or just celebrate that they have been here on this site a long time.

Foosball Friends is just a mailing list for Foos to send his TD's out to I guess. But, Foos is a good TD'er, and a good friend, so I stay with that group too. Nasty Nats and Radio Free Ashburn are my friend DC SportsNuts' groups. I like the way DC writes, so I belong to these groups. I took control of the Oakland Atheletics Fan Group a couple of months ago from the Mods. So I have an Oakland A's specific place to blog. It has 36 members, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who is active. But this group is the group for my favorite team, and I'll keep doing at least monthly entries for this one.

Playmates and Sports was started by another friend, Bucmaster. Bucky and I haven't done many blogs lately for this group, but its still a good group and has some good material on it. I'll keep contributing to this group when I have a chance. Same with The Mustang Ranch, which is a little group a created mainly for myself. These are places I have to post blogs that maybe don't quite fit in with Babes Beer & Sports, or when Mr Pete and I have a blog ready the same day, I'll post in one of these groups and let him take the floor with BB&S.

The Durrell Committee is just getting started. Hllwyd has started this group, and I think it could be a lot of fun in the future. The Fannation Community is just the group that everyone must belong too. There is no better way to Fanmail out your blogs than through this group that so many people belong to. I was one of the first 10 members of Soccernation. Now there are well over 300 members and its one of the best groups on the site. Keeper does an awesome job overseeing this group. US soccer nation is like a spin-off group, to talk more about obviously US soccer. We'll see how that goes, too soon to make a judgement on this one. I am a big fan of US soccer, though, so I'll give it a chance.

The wind has picked up and the smoke is blowing out of the air. I haven't seen blue sky in like a month. Breathe in the fresh air! Just getting things in order. Was this random enough for you?

Great blog, better pictures.

As you know, I have the same problem with blog total. I need to get back on my grind before I drop below 100 blogs again.

Didn't get to see this till today, so I got to see the shout-out. Props back at ya, Thug. Between you and Hova, you guys keep me alive on here.
(And yeah, I'm BACK!!! My FN Magazine piece proves it. NOTHING about sports whatsoever...and I can care less what anybody thinks of it.)
You know, I should look through my OWN friends list and see who's active and who's not...
