If you haven't caught this blog before, I'm an avid sports fan who doesn't get into baseball much. I love heading out to a bar with my buddies to watch big games and every summer after the Stanley Cup is settled I start going nuts. Don't get me wrong, I do love the summer. I live in upstate new york where you have to expect snow 6 monthes out of the year. We only get about 30 nice days in the spring/summer inbetween rain and I do everything I can to take advantage of them. After the sun goes down however, I dream of top ten college football showdowns. So I do this blog and get excited for the pigskin season. Week 10 is pretty good with one of the two biggest games of the season. After that it drops off a bit. There are a couple ACC games that aren't on the list but might be interesting depending on how the teams go. As always, here the are games you MUST SEE, the games you SHOULD SEE, and the games you might want to see, but DON'T BOTHER for week 10.
MUST SEE
Florida vs. Georgia 2:30 Sat. Nov 1st CBS
Biggest conference game of the year. The showdown formally known as the World's Largest Cocktail Party will be as big this year as ever. Worst case this is a huge game if the teams have a few losses inbetween them. Best case situation...they are both undefeated and this is one of the biggest regular season games of the decade. If the winner of this game ends up winning the SEC w/ one loss, they will be the first 1 loss team in the title game without a doubt. Might even jump over an undefeated team with a weak schedule.
SHOULD SEE
South Florida at Cinncinati 6:45 Thurs Oct. 30th ESPN
The Bearcats (what is a bearcat?) quietly won 10 games last season. This is a huge game in the Big East pecking order. I get so stoked for good Thursday matchups.
Oregon at Cal TBA TBA
Must win for Cal at home if they want to show last year's collapse is behind them.
Texas at Texas Tech
These teams both miss Missouri making this the 2nd biggest game for both programs (after Oklahoma). Must win if either team wants to play in the Big12 championship game
West Virginia at Connecticut
Rematch of last year's co-Big East champions. This opens a brutal run of the best Big East teams for West Virginia.
DON'T BOTHER
Nebraska at Oklahoma TBA TBA
Nebraska will be much better, but not good enough to go into Oklahoma and compete for a win.
