Two big trades occured, with two aquisitions maybe making a difference in the outlook of the NFL season.
Jason Taylor was traded by the Dolphins to the Redskins. This was somewhat surprising. It seems they talked about the possibiliy for a few hours and then it happened. The 'Skins get Taylor, and the Dolphins get a 2nd round pick in next years draft, and a 6th round pick in the '10 draft. There was talk much earlier in the offseason of a possible trade involving Taylor to several teams,as the two sides became frustrated with each other as Taylor participated on Fox's Dancing with the Stars, and missed some football.Taylor had been somewhat disgruntled with the team anyway, and seems happy a deal was finally done. This adds a very good DE to a team who lost their starting DE hours before the trade.Good pickup for the Skins' and they really could challene this season. The Dolphins, meh, not so much.

Jeremy Shockey finally got traded. This should have been done at the draft anyway. Many people thought the deal had fell through permanetely when they couldn't get a deal done at the draft, but now it's done and the Saints ae now the favorite for the NFC South.Yes that's right, the favorite. They will have a dealy offense, but their defense is still a question, but the division is weak. The Giants got rid of a headache, and still have a good TE in Kevin Boss. The Giants also got a 2nd rond pick and 5th round pick in return.

Two interesting deals, both of which could have been done much earlier, but the point is,the deals are done.We can move on with this chapter.
