Before I start anything I just want to say thanks to MadridistAmericano for allowing me to see some Beach soccer later today and for the rest of the tourney. Thanks again and go check out that site. Well, let's look at the news. Today's version will have a lot of short stories.
Ronaldinho To Wear #80- It has been confirmed that Ronnie will wear the 80 jersey because his usual '10' is taken by Clarence Seedorf. And since he was born in 1980, he decided to wear the #80.
Matthaus says Bayern All the Way- Bayern Munich legend Walter Matthaus has predicted that Bayern will easily run away and win the Bundesliga this season. Now, to me this is the kind of thing that gets teams beat. We'll see how this one turns out. But it may not be as easy as he thinks.
Chelsea Make Moves and Look for More- Chelsea have signed Michael Essien to a 5-year deal. Chelsea are also being linked with Real Madrid's Robinho, Barcelona's Eto'o, and AC Milan's Kaka. Every off-season is pretty busy for Chelsea and this one is no different. Let's see how they turn out next May.
Ronaldo Move a Mistake- Sir Alex Ferguson has said that if Ronaldo were to go to Real Madrid it would be a huge mistake. Sir Alex doesn't think that he can grow if he leaves Old Trafford. I think this is absurd because he is a footballer. Footballers play football and football is change. It wouldn't be that big of a deal to him to move. It's football, not the end of the world Sir Alex. Come on and get your act straight.
Arshavin to Tottenham- I wish! Tottenham would be a perfect fit for Arshavin. You know why? Because he wouldn't have to risk playing behind someone at a big club and he would get the full experience of the EPL. I think he would fit in well, too. Let's face it, Russia (right now) are like a Tottenham. They are an off-the-screen contender for the Champions League and Russia were off-the-screen contenders. He's a great fit and it's too bad that Spurs can't afford him.
Olympics Update- As reported yesterday on this report, the German FA are trying to fight FIFA over the use of players at this summer's Olympic games. But Rafinha (Schalke) and Diego (Werder Bremen) have both declared there positons on the issue. They want to play. And I don't blame them one bit. As a very, very decent soccer player I would love to haev a chance to play for my country. And I can why they want to play. I only hope that FIFA sort this out and make the right decision for everyone, including the fans.
Today's Games- D.C. United is playing Houston Dynamo tonight. Not sure about the TV, if there is any, so check it out if you can.
As always thanks. It's been Keeper and I'm out.
