Granted the man had some success in places he's coached like New York but that was 13 years ago when he won the Stanley Cup it is almost like the guy isn't even relevant anymore especially with the two pit stops he made after his stint on Broadway: the Panthers and the Bruins and he didn't have success with either one of those two clubs why does it all the sudden seem like he's going to be the savior for a Calgary team who is only a few years removed from having won a Stanley Cup? I hate to say it but as much as I admire Keenan for what he did in New York I don't see that same spark that he had there translating to success going north of the border I just don't see it. The hiring of Keenan goes right up there with Ottawa's recent firing of their general manager after a Stanley Cup appearance (I mean seriously, who fires their GM or coach for that matter after they were led all the way to the Stanley Cup the move makes no sense---but alas I digress) as one of the most curious moves ever conducted by a Canadian team. I guess we'll just have to see if in fact they made the right move only time will tell
