As a new member of fannation, I have not yet voted on any throwdowns, or participated in any yet, but I have been viewing them for several days to get the basics down of throwdowning. Please correct me, as I am still learning.

Everyone has a certain name the identifies them for the most part, with some minor changes sometimes ocurring without changing the entire name, so everyone is able to identify them.

A lot of the time, whoever has a better record or is liked more often than his/her opponent gets early votes. Before arguements occur, sometimes during listing.

There are people who are not worth arguing with and have mulitple accounts.

Moderation is not a full time job apparently.

Or a part-time job, for that matter.

Homers are people that pick their favorite players or teams for not always substantial reasons.

Record is not everything, but a big part.

Everyone thinks there is a lot of room to improve, but in every system, there is room to improve.

Throwing down and blogging scores you friends and also sometimes votes as a direct result of.

If any of this is not true, please inform me, so I can try to have the most fun I can have, without hindering anyone elses fun.

Helpful hint: ignore the malcontents and stay close to the ones who try to have intelligent comments (like Oilers above here).

Unfortunately, you are correct about the multiple accounts. Sad they have to do that to attempt to justify their miserable existence.

Any Spam? DON'T Copy & Paste into your response as FN will miss it and only delete the original Spam post thus keeping the moron posted.

Hope it's a good experience......

75% of throwdowns are either nonsensical, fixed, a popularity contest, decided based on the subject matter and not on the under;yong arguments, or very repetitive. If you want to have fun, think outside the box and do something different. SOme of the more useless TD's ever start with:

x is better than y
A will win ...
Best all time ...........
pick any 3 players and ......
