Armanti Edwards. I am sure you have heard of him, especially after last seasons improbable upset of the Big Blue. Well he is not a one-hit wonder, and I am telling you right now. At the end of the season, Armanti Edwards will at least be spoken about-for the Heisman, if he stays healthy. He is just that good.
Look at what he did to a Michigan defense that has future NFL'ers like Terrance Taylor, Brandon Graham, Donovan Warren, and Obi Ezeh on it. Edwards went 17-23 227 yards and 3 TD's, and ran for 63 yards and a TD. Without him their was no way Appalachian State would have even been in the game. Later that year he had one of the best games I had ever seen. I was watching Appalachian state against the Citadel, and Edwards was dominant. He ran for 291 yards and 2 TD's, and threw for 148 yards and 2 more TD's. He led his team through the playoffs with another amazing performance in the seim's against Richmond when he rushed for 313 yards and four touchdowns and threw for 182 yards and three scores.
Edwards, is a dominant player. In the regular season despite missing 3 games here were his numbers. He threw for 1,948 yards and 17 touchdowns and ran for 1,588 yards and 21 scores. Yea thats right, and I am calling another bold prediction, if Edwards stays healthy, Tebow will have another member in the 20/20 club, Armanti Edwards. A recent quote by Edwards showed me the type of person he is. When asked about the hardest part of defeating Michigan he said the plane ride, because of his fear of heights. That is what makes a player go. That aggressiveness, or self-confidence that is borderline obnoxious.
Oh and for his team he has started since he was a frosh, and has taken his team to 2 national titles. With 14 starters back, expect a third under Edwards, and 4th in a row to occur. The bigger game for me will be the opening game for Appalachian State, when they take on LSU. The past 2 national champs of FBS, and FCS football going at it. And I promise you LSU would trade any of their QB's for Edwards in a second. Because of his small size no div-1-a school was willing to give him a scholarship as a QB, so he went to Appalachian State. Now their have been rumors that he would be transferring to Florida State, and yet agains I loved Edwards response. They didn’t want me out of high school. I wouldn’t want to go there now,” Edwards said. That is the type of player I like, and when Appalachian State plays LSU, watch out, because the best player on the field may be #14 for Appalachian State
