While there is still some question as to what Brett Favre is going to be doing next year, we do know one thing: Aaron Rodgers is the starting QB for the Green Bay Packers.

"Aaron Rodgers is the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers," McCarthy said. "That's been stated over and over again. I hope we can finally understand that. That's where we are as an organization and as a head coach of the Green Bay Packers. I don't know how else to answer that question."

Can you blame them? Favre announced his retirement back in March and has flip-flopped ever since. Maybe Brett should go into politics...

And I need to say this because it seems as though no one has brought this up. Aaron Rodgers has taken this extremley well. He has stayed out of the media's eye, he hasn't complained or made statements about his feelings about the whole situation. And if he is this calm, cool, and collected in the current situation, it sure is a great sign of things to come. Rodgers will probably continue the same calm, cool, and collected pressance onto the field.

Back to Mr. Favre...

What we don't know is whether or not the Packers will trade Favre [Recent reports suggest that Favre could be traded to either the New York Jets, or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers], or keep him as a back-up QB. According to several reports by ESPN, the Packers have stated they have "no intention of releasing" the recently retired slash unretired not sure QB.

Here is my take on the whole situation. If Brett Favre stays in Green Bay, and if the Packers stay true to their plans as far as the QB position goes, then Favre would be a backup, and in that case would most likely not come back at all. This is a losing situation. Second, if he is traded to another team [such as the Jets or the Bucs] then he will lose a lot of respect from teamates, players, fans, and myself. I am sick of seing FAVRE on ESPN's Bottomline. I am sick of Favre updates. For Brett Favre to come back from retirement to finish his season off anywhere but Green Bay would do no justice to his legacy.

What do you think. Members of FanNation, Should Brett come back to Green Bay only if he can start. Should he come back and be a back up. Should he get traded and finish of his career with a team other then Green Bay. Or should he just stay retired?

He can pick his poison. Stay in Green Bay or go to the Bucs and lose to Dallas in the playoffs. Go to the Jets and lose to the Patriots. Stay retired and be forever labeled as a flip-flopper. He's done it to himself now. He has no choice but to come back and kick butt. Anything that is not a SB win will be viewed as a failure.

Yes, yes. There will be fans who will continually blame TT for all this and threaten to back whatever team Favre goes to. I say--let them go. The chance of getting a season ticket to GB has just gotten easier.

Trade him to NYC and watch him wilt under the big spotlight with a team trying to win now.

Brett Favre is the GREATEST QB to EVER play the game of football. If the **** **** in GreenBay (Ted Tompson, and Mark Murphy) can't see that He (BRETT FAVRE) gives the team the best chance to win they need to be fired ASAP. I know Mike McCarth would love to have Favre back but he is just a puppet to what Thompson wants.

Give Brett his helmet and Congratz Packers on another NFC north Division Championship, NFC Championship, and World Championship.

Dont give Brett his helmet... we'll then welcome back to 8-8 or lower (probably finnish ahead of the Lions though) and I will GARUNTEE that, that China Doll Aaron Rodgers gets **** hurt and misses atleast 4 - 6 games or more of this upcoming season.
