Gilbert Arenas, has been a very good story almost a rags-to-richies story.
But I don't think he is helping the Wizards as much as it seems .He is only a scorer, and he scores by himself which doesn't help the Offensive flow. He also doesn't give any assits really. Look, at the end of the year when the Wizards had a great run towards the end without Gilbert. And when he came back it was understood that he didn't help, he forced his shots and took away the chemistry. The other players play with a chip on their shoulder and they all play together.
He is being paid 111$ million which could be spent to get some role player. Which could go towards a decent center because we have scorers to pick up the slack from Gilbert not being there. And as for the guards, DeShawn Stevenson & A. Daniels are both very capable and both very capable scorers.
And with them in the backcourt the whole team has chemistry and there all around the same popularity and payroll. Plus the whole team works better when there the Guards....they both have more assits then Gilbert and they dont force anything also they pass and help the Ofensive flow.
Also with the money, 111$ million, for Gilbert they can get what they desperately need, a strong post player and if Gilbert were traded, could probally get a very strong center for Gilbert but in Free Agency there are plenty of post player like:
Theo Ratlif
Josh Smith
Ema Okafor
Loul Deng
or many otheres...

Emily DiDonato
Nina Agdal
