I see where npeople would say that his accomplishments warrent a trip to the Hall the only problem I have with those people is this: He bet on the game. In all fairness at this point in time once you've admitted that you've bet than you've lost your chance at glory and the fact is he did when he agreed to that lifetime ban in 1989. Most people don't know this but he was also up for enshrinment in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and he fell just short. Does someone want to tell me why he was considered for the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame? The manm played for the Expos for 73 games during the 1984 season how does that warrent consideration into Canda's baseball Hall? It just doesn't make sense.

I applaud him for finally coming out and admitting after all these years that he had a problem. What I don't appreciate as a fan is the fact that he lied for so long about his problem but if I had a vote on the BWAA I wouldn't even vote for him if he were eligible. I mean to say that Rose should be eligible for the Hall for what he did is like sayingf Shoeless Joe Jackson should be eligible even though he and several; other people were accused of throwing the 1919 World Series. It just does not make sense
