I am sure that all of us have seen that formula where A-Z is equal to 1-26 and the words equal a percentage. Well ATTITUDE equals 100%. For most of us, 100% is our ceiling; the highest we can go. In the ongoing saga of retirement and that Favre guy, 100% was his ceiling too. Unfortunately people misunderstand that. When Favre said that he was not 100% committed to playing football, he wasn't lying. He said that he would only play if he was 100% committed. Is there a chance that he was 90%? How about 99.9999%? I would say that is a pretty good chance. I was never that good at math, but I do know that both of those last two numbers I mentioned are not or do not equal 100%. Let's give Favre the benefit of the doubt here. If he's at 90% in March and is asked if he'll play and he'll only play at 100%...well YOU do the math.

Favre maintains that the Packers were pushing for an answer in March. So, Brett looks into his crystal ball to see what happens in his 39-year-old life four months into the future...does he see that #4 jersey on his back? Hard to say. However, obviously, in March that crystal ball was not so 100% crystal clear. The Packers have Aaron Rodgers waiting in the wings, getting paid and the Packers want some payout in the investment. For the Packers to NEED an answer, that is acceptable. Likewise, Farve's answer was acceptable too. I know that I can't say what I see in my crystal ball four months from now is 100% crystal clear either.

The facts have been listed and the witnesses have been sworn in. Let's look at this for what it really is: Media hype. We have reached the point of the sports world calendar where VERY LITTLE happens. The NBA and NHL playoffs are over. The NBA draft is over. Baseball is in the middle of the season, with nothing really riding on the day-to-day games yet (The All-Star game was good though!!). NCAA football is approaching, but not as fast as everyone wants. The Olympics are going to be a Chinese joke. Likewise for the WNBA (except for the Chinese part). NASCAR is NASCAR. Golf has no Tiger Woods. What did I miss? Hell, we could even throw TV in general in the mix...everything is in re-runs. What in god's name shall we talk about?

Thou shall talk about the NFL! The NFL season, mini-camps and Fantasy Football are around the corner. Circling water coolers everywhere is that Favre guy and where/if he will play. My theory is that Favre will end up on another team, the Packers will be pissed that it came to that and life will go on. I don't see too many situations out there for Favre to have the kind of success that he enjoyed last year. Favre is now 100% committed to playing, but the Packers are not 100% committed to bringing him back. Not everyone can ride off into the sunset like Elway did. In a perfect world...Favre retires, joins a Broadcast Team with John Madden, so that Madded can actually hump his leg while praising him during th broadcast. I am sure that Madden is 'UP' for it...

I, for one, have not followed the story religiously, and won't. Thank god that E! News is not covering this or we would have breaking news updates every 3.2 seconds. At least it will give us something to talk about this summer and not wonder what is coming up after that cliff-hanger that we were left with on the season-finale of Grey's Anatomy...

I agree with you 100 percent. I'm glad that E isn't covering this either. But, I think that Favre has held an organization hostage over the last few years and the Packers have finally said we can't keep doing this with you year after year. So, I don't blame them either for doing what they felt like they had to do

He has kept them hanging for the last few years, I will agree with that. However, if they feel like that, they have the ability to cut the cord. They have had that ability all along. The Packers finally put that ball back in Brett's court and he made a decision that he was clearly not ready to make at the time they asked him. It not too late to cut the cord, but I understand how they are playing it out. They should try to get as much as they can for him.

I don't see the Packers just cutting the cord with him...that might be asking a bit much from us
