I have been lucky enough to travel to quite a few venues over the past 15+ years and the tailgating has always been a highlight of my trips. However, of all the places I've gone, I can truly say that only 3 places have tailgating parties worth talking about...1) Ohio State 2) Oregon 3) LSU Of course tailgating at tOSU is one of my favorite things to do, but I must admit this past year I experienced LSU and they were very talented tailgaters, to say the least. Tailgating at LSU is a lot different than at OSU, but both rock. And Oregon...who'd a thunk? But those folks know how to throw a party. So I guess I am wondering what makes a good tailgating party? At tOSU (of which I have the most experience) its the camping out all week before the game, the smells, the food, the cornhole, the painted buses, the yells of O-H and I-O, the band rocking and jamming at the Skull Session before the game, the fans, the electricity, but the thing I like most about tailgating at tOSU is the fact that players from old (Archie Griffin, Pete Johnson, Rex Kern, etc) will roam around talking to folks and just enjoying the comraderie of the fans. It is a great place to be on game day!!!!
