For those who care about baseball Mark Teixeria has been traded from Atlanta Braves to Anaheim Angels (who think they're in L.A.) for Casey Kotchman and AA pitcher Stephen Marek.  Diamondbacks were believed to be the front runner, but were unwilling to give up Connor Jackson.  Not sure if this is a good move or not.  Teixeria is a free agent at the end of the season and may command 20M.  His agent is Scott Boras

Braves just gave up on the East and I think this about guarantee the Angels the AL pennent.

I'm split on this. On one hand I know Tiexara is better with a bat and will add that extra bit of power we need, but on the other hand Kotchman balls and rarely strikes out. And I realize Mark is better but?

I think Kotchman will develope into a decent player. The pitcher the Braves got will probably not be a great major league. If Teixeria doesn't re-sign with the Angels then this deal will be wash, but for them, but good for the Braves.

I think this shows that the Angels want to win the World Series THIS year at all costs. I think they've grown tired of being eliminated by the Boston Red Sox. This makes them the team to beat in the AL in my opinion.
