MLB Transactions

The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned RHP Micah Owings to Triple-A Tuscon and recalled RHP Jailen Peguero from Tuscon.

The Atlanta Braves acuired INF Casey Kotchman and RHP Steve Marek from the Los Angeles  Angels in exchange for INF Mark Teixiera.

The Colorado Rockies placed OF Scott Podsednik on the 15-day DL with a non-displaced fractureon his left pinky finger. They also purchased the contract of OF Cory Sullivan from Triple-A Colorado Springs and designated RHP Alberto Arias for assignment.

The New York Mets reinstated RHP Pedro Martinez from the bereavement list. They also optioned LHP Willie Collazo to Triple-A New Orleans.

The Philadelphia Phillies placed INF Pedro Feliz on the 15-day DL with inflammation in his lower back. They also recalled INF Mike Cervenak and LHP J.A. Happ from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed INF Adam LaRoche on the 15-day DL with a right intercostal strain. They also recalled INF Brian Bixler from Triple-A Indianapolis.

The San Diego Padres reinstated RHP Chris Young from the DL. They also designated OF Chip Ambres for assignment. They also reinstated RHP Kevin Cameron from the DL and optioned him to Triple-A Portland.

The Texas Rangers placed INF Hank Blalock on the 15-day DL with inflammation in his right shoulder. They also purchased the contract of INF Ryan Roberts from Triple-A Oklahoma. They also transferred RHP Jason Jennings to the 60-day DL.
