The Orioles have a ton of good prospects that will make a splash in the near future.
Mike Costanzo is a good hitter with great hands. No matter where the ball is he always seems to grab it and throw it to first with ease. This third baseman doesnt hit for the best average but when runners are on he always drives them in and is a great clutch player. With Melvin Mora getting older I see no reason why he wont be playing for the Orioles later this season and at his age, he has lots of good years ahead of him
Bradley Bergesen has been a head turner this season for the Baysox(Orioles AA Team). His 2.68 era is at the top of his league and with 13 wins he knows how to win ballgames. He doesnt strike out a ton of batters but gets them to hit a lot of ground balls which turn into double plays to get him out of trouble. Batters only hit .248 against this 22 year old destined for stardom.
Like Bergesen David Hernandez is ready for stardom. Also a 23 year old he has Daniel Cabrera type stuff with better control and walks less batters. This year he has 123 strikeouts and batters are hitting less then .210 of this guy. His fastball is unhittable and he has other pitches that make the batter look silly. Thiw future Oriole wants to win every time hes out there and always gives it his all. In a few years he will be a key part of our playoff team built around players like him.
Ryan Adams will be Brian Roberts replacement once he retires. This 21 year old isnt the fastest but makes up for that with his bat. Adams is one of the few second baseman who can hit for power along with a good average and after seeing him play a few weeks ago against the Blueclaws hes a Chase Utley prototype with all the skills that you could ever ask for out of a second baseman
Last but not least the most famous out of all the Orioles prospects Matt Wieters. The orioles havent had a good catcher for quite some time so Wieters could be up in the Majors by the end of this season. A future Mike Pizza hes not a great fielder and doesnt have the strongest arm but makes up for that with his bat. Hes hitting .404 with runners on, and has 15 homeruns in only 69 games this season. Wieter is another great catch in the making and a great replacement for Ramon Hernandez who hasent been the same since he signed with us a few years back
