Sammy Sosa hits his 600th homerun with his first team against his former team! Talk about a great experience!
The question is '"did he get there without using drugs". The cork bat issue will always be talked about but would not keep him from the HOF. Many thought he left the game to give himself a chance at the hall and not test positive. It is clear he can still hit but his 40+ homerun seasons are long gone.
Will he be questioned or a strong candidate for the hall? 600 usually meant a guarantee in but we will probally see Bonds not in with over 750. I always thought he was a good hitter but there were many questions about him using drugs. He got out before the heat came but now he is back and probally clean. Do you think leaving to clean up and coming back to reach 600 gives him a shot or thefact Barry reaching the record using drugs stop him for awhile?
I believe his only shot is early. If he misses the cut the first few years; he will miss the HOF.
