For a team that has made lots of bad trades the Mets still have a good amount of prospects that should join Reyes, Wright and the rest of the team somewhere down the line.

Greg Veloz is another star from the Dominican Republic with Brian Roberts potential. Greg is hitting .284 with five homeruns, 24 doubles, and five triples but is a natural basestealer with raw speed. He can drop a basehit bunt or even draw a walk, while playing terrific defense for a 20 year old getting to the ball no matter where it is. Gregs only 20 years old and plays in a ball so he has a few more years intil he becomes the Mets starting second baseman.

Billy Wagners getting older while Eddie Kunz is turning heads . Kunz lead Oregon State to back to back NCAA championships and has proved to be the same kind of player posting a 2.87 era with 26 saves this season. Eddie has a 95 mphfastball that sinks down and in on rightys along with a decent slider and a great changeup. Omar Minaya has been thinking about bring him up latly and with his stuff he could be the set-up man by the end of next season

Ever hear of Fernando Martinez. While if you watched the futures all star game at Yankee Stadium a few weeks back he was the outfielder with a Mets cap on and went one for two against the best in the minors Martinez has a solid arm which will throw out a fair share of runners but his best ability is his power. This year hes hitting .292 with five homeruns and only 25 rbis which for a leadoff hitter aint bad. With the Mets week outfield situation being as bad as it is I wouldnt be surprised if hes called up in late august or early september and by spring training he will be competing for a starting spot

Jon Niese is a Scott Kazmir type player. He was the final piece to getting Raul Ibanez that didnt go through since the Mets wouldnt give him up. Niese recently added a cutter to his arsenol of pitches which include a changeup, fastball and slider. just This 21 year old just got promoted to Triple A where he has a 1.29 era and is earning his spot as the ace of the team. Niese seems like a guy who will be in a lot of trade rumors but should become a hall of famer when its all said and done
