It takes Herculean strength, iron will, and tireless dedication.  No, I'm not talking about a prominent sport, major athletic event, or even mountain climbing. I'm talking about moving.  Everything you own.

I am physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted, and the real work hasn't begun yet... I know it will be worth it, and like successful athletes, I will most likely reach the end and begin crying uncontrollably. But right now, I can barely move and even my eyelashes hurt.

I haven't been around much the past two weeks, and I probably STILL won't be around much the next two, but I do have a good reason, and I will be back in time for football season. Promise.

PS-- Moving also incorporates my previous Olympic sport, so you have to be waterproof as well.

You would think the cat would be accustomed to it by now...

I hate moing with a passion. It doesn't help that i am a farm boy, which necessarily makes me a pack rat.

2003 - 3 BR house in Cleve to a "Temp Apartment" in Detroit for a new job. Job looked not to be as promised early, so didn't even unpack - just waited out the 2 years so it didn't look like I was constantly jumping jobs.

2005 - Company paid move Detroit to Wyoming "Temp Apartment". This time they didn't mislead me about the job, they outright lied. Didn't wait around for long. You wonder howmuch stuff you have? I found out I has approx. 19K lbs (didn't care, wasn't paying the bill)

2006 - Wyoming to North Dakota. Great job, but fell seriously ill the 2nd month, almost a shut in for almost a year (fine now, thanks for asking)

2007 - THE move - ND to Alaska apartment. Had to trim down the weight to stay within the company budget. Dropped 4K lbs in a heartbeat (made about $1K in scrap metal). Drove the Alaskan Highway twice, over 3K miles in under 4 days, once driving a seriously overloaded 53' Uhaul and utility trailer rig (Prove it lets out manly grunt)

2008 - Finally apartment back into a home. Unpacked stuff that hadn't seen daylight since 2002 when I was getting ready to move. I had completely forgotten about some of it (really - I still don't recall previously having a lot of it - so it really was like Christmas).

Now moved in and set up except for an overly complicated home entertainment system and a to-do list that literally exceeds 80 items to keep me busy thru the AK winter.
