Sup people, and welcome back to the NBA chat club. It's been a while since I wrote a blog at all, and even longer since I wrote an NBA Chat club. This is the 4th in the series. I wasn't feeling in the mood to write a blog, but have finally decided its time for another one.

First of, my Kobe Bryant Blog has 2000 hits, becoming my second 2000+ hits blog. Here's the link people, for anyone who wants to see it. http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/209556

In other news, before I get to talking about the NBA, it is to be noted that Heat Fan has finally stopped blabbing about the Heat. For how long though, that is anyone's guess. As usual, I would like to thank J Hova for the advice he has given me along with Hllywd. And Joe Drinks Dew has become a father now. Hey Joe, if your reading this, congratulations on the kid!

Finally, I've nearly reached 100 friends! This is great news for me anyways, as its a big accomplishment! Now, moving on the NBA news.

The new rage in the NBA is to go to Europe if your not that good and want the big bucks. So far, not many have moved but many are supposedly considering to move. Josh Childress is recieving $20 million for next year. $20 MILLION! The fact that the Euro has much more value than the dollar and the lack of a salary cap space in many European teams will soon result in alot more players going over to Europe, even if only for a year. I'm pretty sure this isn't what David Stern meant by expanding to Europe...

Alot of important signings have gone on since I last wrote a blKwame brown is one of the many scrubs who have not reached their potential but is arguably the worst...og. Supposedly, the Pistons have signed Kwame Brown for $4 million. That has to be the stupidest thing the Pistons have done in a while. Kwame Brown is talented and athletic, granted. However, he's a scrub, and he's extremely lazy. Along with that, he has small hands, so his offense is limited. He has bad footwork, and seems akwards while moving in the post. He does use some post moves, but lacks the brain power to remember them and use them more than once, resulting in very shaky and inconsistent offensive contribution from him, and as a bonus, he plays weak defense in the post, unable to stay on his man or block shots. He has showed his great potential at times, like scoring 30 points and 19 rebounds in a game, and occasionally dropping in good games, but they are too widespread and inconsistent as I said earlier, and he has recently been suffering from injury prone play, constantly being injured during the season. This is why the Piston's are ruined if they think their key to get beyond the Conference Finals is Kwame Brown.

I hear Ron Artest is going to be shipped off to Houston soon. This will definitely give them a more solid defender than Shane Battier even, a good scorer, and a decent rebounder and passer. He has good range and can drive to the lane well. However, Yao Ming and Luis Scola seem worried about his arrival, and their worry is justified. 4 years ago, he beat up a group of fans and even to this date, to some extent attempts to justify his actions. He has also been in trouble for abusing a few dogs in his house, and has been suspended for recent legal troubles. However, I believe he is attempting to keep all that in him, and he has reformed his ways. However, now he has to prove himself to Houston fans and the rest of the world who think he is a violent thug. In his own words, he is "ghetto" and a "true black person". Lets see how he does though in Houston. If they can stay healthy, a legitimate problem with Yao Ming and Tracy Mcgrady in the lineup, then they will be a good team. A great team actually.

It seems Josh Howard has found himself in trouble once more this year. From a couple months ago to his confession of smoking pot, he has now been caught speeding on the road. He was driving 95 mph on a road with a speed limit of 55 mph. He is sentenced to appear in court on September 23rd about this. His recent legal troubles have made him very unpopular among NBA Fans, and a poster boy for sports players with legal problems. I thought he would be cleaning up his act but instead he was caught speeding. Granted, its not a major offense, with almost everyone having sped atleast once, but its definitely not going to help his already poor image...

That's it for todays NBA Chat Club. Thanks everybody, for reading this blog, and please comment on it so I can get your feedback. Thanks for your time people, and I hope to see you next time on the NBA Chat Club. Thanks for coming, and until next time, See ya!

Kwame Brown was a stupid move. Watch the Pistons come back with the exact same roster as last year other than Brown

Nice blog,Artest in Houston could shape up to be very interesting, this could be the missing piece that actually gets T-Mac out of the first round of the playoffs,or distraction, your opinion.Kwame?HA!Howard?UGH!Players going Euro? Please, nobody that major will go over, maybe Stephon Marbury but that's the biggest.

Artest in Houston will be a nice addition..Will it be enough to push them past the Utah Jazz <<<< Notorious Houston killers

August 3, 2008  09:45 PM ET

Kings were idiotic for getting rid of their best defender and post player for next to nothing.

August 4, 2008  12:34 AM ET

best post player?
not sure about that...

Yes, it will.

But still not enough to challenge the Lakers, Spurs, and Hornets.

August 4, 2008  04:00 PM ET

Let's see what Stern does once a prime time player signs to play in Europe.

August 4, 2008  04:01 PM ET

Oh, I can forgive Ron Ron beating up fans, but abusing dogs is unforgivable. LOL.

"Josh Childress is recieving $20 million for next year. $20 MILLION! "

its not 20 million a season but Olympiakos offered three years and $32.5 million, which after taxes paid by the club becomes a net of salary of about $6.7 million a year for Childress.

but other than that not to bad.

August 6, 2008  01:36 AM ET

Yeah but they said that much while they pay taxes for him.
So its about $20 million when you include the tax money.

August 6, 2008  11:32 AM ET

no its not read it. its not 20 million a season. if that was the case it would be 3 years and 60 million. read closely he doesnt get the tax part if it they just pay him that, he gets 6.7 million a season..

I thought Ron's "I'm ghetto" and a "true black man" nonsense was shameful.

He's buying into sterotypes and perpetrating them.

Julius Irving was all class. So were lots of other NBA players from Clyde Drexler and Michael Jordan to Allan Houston.

So what's this "true black man" crap.

August 6, 2008  03:41 PM ET

BTW, good blog, ahung.

August 6, 2008  05:29 PM ET

Thanks I agree violence and thugging has nothing to do with culture.
That's just an excuse to justify what you are doing, whether you are white or black or anyone else.

August 14, 2008  10:56 AM ET

hey ahung what's up? I was gone for awhile but I'm back, nice blog though...but I'm going to disagree with you on Kwame Brown..and I know is hard to defend that cat but I will try my best...lol...the kid can play,he doesn't have the best footwork and work ethics, flat out his a lazy **** but I have to admit that when he was in L.A. and he was determined to play at his best he played really good...that series against the Suns in 06,we were up 3-0 thanks to Brown's defense on Diaw and also he was scoring really well, but again as inconsistent as he always been,he faded the next year when we needed him the most...but I have to say that I've seen some sporadic moments of good basketball from him, just not in a regular basis....he has a nice body frame and I bet could've been of big help against Perkins in the Finals....I know I know we got better deal with Gasol and I don't disagree...but the Pistons are betting on the guy thinking the same thing:to match up against the big Celtics front, just enough to neutralize Perkins from being that effective...the kid deserves a shot and from mid class centers not super stars(like Dumpier,Brad Miller or even Perkins) he came out cheap...just 4 mill....not bad,and playing and a weak eastern conf, with a well balanced team on defense like the Pistons,it will be the perfect environment to have some success, he won't have a problem putting up decent numbers...take my word...
