I may be the only Broncos fan, or football fan to say this, but I am very disappointed by John Lynch's actions towards the Broncos in recent weeks.
There is no doubt that Lynch is a classy guy, and he's a real pro and probably one of the greatest safeties to ever play the game. However, as a leader his actions are totally unecessary and out of character, unless Lynch has just shown his true colors.
I know I might get condemned for saying this, but I think it was a very immature move for Lynch to throw a fit over not having enough playing time. That's a move reserved for the likes of T.O. or Randy Moss, not for a guy with the reputation that John Lynch has. He needs to step up and accept the fact that maybe his play isn't up to the standards in his years, and that he should become more of a leader.
It pains me to see a guy as acclaimed as Lynch to stoop down to such a low level. So what if you can't play every down? There are young guys on that team that especially now, more than ever, we need to have leaders around to show them the ropes and get them to an NFL level to win us another championship. Lynch says his only regret is not bringing a championship to Denver, but then he gives up on us this year out of selfishness.
Every year is a new year, and I have a bias since i'm a Broncos fan, but I haven't been this excited since the offseason before the 2005 season, when I also had an excellent feeling and we nearly won the superbowl. With Cutler in his third year, depth at every posistion, and a slew of fresh talent waiting to explode (Young, Marshall, Royal, Torain), this could very well be the start of a new era for the Broncos, and it's sad that John Lynch is not man enough to be a part of that.
Let the crucifixion being.

True, especially since he is now such a coverage liability that it can't be covered up. Even his run support skills have delined some. He's not gonna get a shot to be a 3 down player anywhere.

You're all looking at this from only one side. Let me introduce you to the business side of this issue.
By limiting John Lynch's playing time, you are limiting his stats and his high lite opportunities. Now this is good if your say coming towards the end of a contract and want to keep a player but you don't really want to pay him. By limiting Lynch's downs, you significantly limit his stats and thus the perception of his effectiveness drops dramaticlly. By doing this you can limit the interest that a player will receive when he becomes a free agent and thus you can resign him at a far lower price then you would normally have been able.
You can say what you want about his pass coverage but there are a lot of teams out there that are getting by with safeties that are inferior to the talent that is John Lynch.
EagleHater, I would like to see Lynch at least get the chance at making another team without having to go through the normal media circus. If he is not needed by Denver, then by all means let him go and seek meaningful employment elsewhere with no hard feelings. To my knowledge he has never spoken ill of the Management, Coaches or the Players. So please get of his back.

Lynch is a great player and has given us some great memories as a Bronco and Buc, but he has declined and I would use him a tad more than what the Broncos plan to, but he will never be a 3 down player again

From a fellow Bronco's fan to another, Lynch IS classy and "He's not stooping down when he refuses to be a part timer". There's TWO sides to every story/dispute, Lynch doesn't feel he can fairly compete for a full time position on a team with a chance to win a "Championship."

Lynch is an excellent DB and has done well in Denver and I respect his playing abilities. I think the defense in Denver started going to pieces when key players like Atwater, Smith, and Lynch left.
