04:01 PM ET  08.04 | I was thrilled to learn that Manny Ramirez was finally traded from the Boston Red Sox.  Not only did he leave the Red Sox but he also left the American League which means he will never play against the Yankees untill maybe the playoffs.  Manny was batting over .400 in his last 30 or so games aginst the Yankees and has been a Yankee killer his whole tenure with the Red Sox.  Dodger fans should be just as thrilled as I am because even though I am a Yankee fan Manny is one of the best hitters in the game.  He should make a huge impact in the Dodgers run at that playoffs and I also feel that he wont be a distraction to Torre and the Dodgers organization.  Now I know that the Red sox got a great player in return for Manny in Jason Bay but he is not going to have the same presence in their lineup as Manny did.  If you were to ask any Yankee who they would rather face in a big situation they will probably choose Bay over Manny.  This could also result in more teams being able to now pitch around David Ortiz who would hurt the Yankees every time as well.  All in all i believe that this trade has weakened the Red Sox a little bit and will definetly help the Yankees in their playoff run.
