Tomorrow is my 1 year anniversary of being on Fannation (I have the time to do the blog today so that's why I'm doing it 1 day early).

I'm not going to give shout outs to my friends...you know if I like you and you know if I don't.

Here's what I've learned over the last year on Fannation:

- the Nolan Ryan man-crushes could give the Brett Favre man-crushes a run for their money

- TD records mean squat

- if you read one of Bigalke's blogs, have a dictionary handy

- there are a lot more blind homers in the world than I ever realized

- the town of Havertown, PA isn't just the hometown of the NBA's biggest cheat in Tim Donaghy, but also the hometown of some of the biggest cheaters Fannation has ever seen (and not smart ones at that)

- Fannation hasn't been the same since Josh and Krobe left

- Frank Petangelli really needs to keep his aluminum foil hat on....although it is funny as hell when he takes it off

- don't TD against Porkins...in anything...

- that Chuck Norris, while supported by the tank-driving, TD Mojo-stealing cats is unstoppable

- the Manning Awesome Points can trump any argument in a TD

- you can win a TD by saying Hot Dog, Rubber Band or Leper Elephants

- Scott Norwood can still make Goodell cringe

- people will defend their cheating and dupe accounts forever

- some people still think NMI runs Fannation (which we do, thanks for letting that secret out Frank P)

- that I'm not the only one that appears to earn a salary for being on Fannation all day

- they allow kids during school hours too much internet access

- that if you speak ill of James Worthy you will face the wrath of a throwdowner named NCshvDavid

- the TD leaderboard is easy to get on, if all you do is cherry pick your opponents

- that if you are over the age of 30, you are considered old

- that if you come up with an original TD idea, there will be no less than 3 other members who will steal the idea

- that if you join a new group, chances are pretty great the group will be inactive within 2 months

- that if you spend hours typing up a blog, or making great arguments in a TD you will either get a ton of views with no comments, a ton of votes with no comments or hardly any votes at all

- mom jokes are still funny, no matter how old you may be

- never, ever, ever google Nicole Bass.  Thanks to Frank P for introducing that "lady" to Fannation.

I just want to say, I spend over 50 hours a week on here (I know, I'm still looking for the vending machines selling Lives) and even though I've thought about quitting several times, there are some great people on here and I can't seem to stay away.

So thank you to all those that make this site a great place to hang out in and to those idiots on here that make it fun.

Two things I've learned in my relatively short time on here: - (1) that some members hate it if you read their work and don't post a comment - so I say thanks for this, it was interesting! And (2) I am VERY old. Pass the razor blades .....

August 5, 2008  09:38 AM ET

you're right Oilers.....I hate when people read my blogs but don't tell me if it was okay, if it sucked etc...any criticism or compliments are appreciated.
