We all know that Brett Favre wants to go to a team within the NFC North and well all know that is got going to happen unless the Bears or vikings morgage more than just their imideate future. Brett has not been open to any sort of trade to the Jets for many eason he probably would not want to say in public. The Bucs are the more attracitve of the two right of the bat. He is fimliar with the coaches, they just came off a playoff season and the playbook is similar to Green Bays. The problem with the Jets is that they are coming off a 4-12 seaon, they play in the tougher AFC, and Eric Mangeni, the OC and the QB coach are all younger than Favre. But, I say he Jets are the better of the two teams to go too.
First lets compare the teams schedules. The Jets play the Pats, Dolphnis, and Bills twice. With Brett the the Jets could beat the Pats at least once, kill the Dolphins twice and beat the Bills. Then they play at SD, OAK, TENN, SF, and SEA. They should beat OAK, SF, and SEA with favre, and possible Tenn too, its a toss up with SD. Then they play ARI, CIN, KC, STL, and DEN all at home. They should beat all of these teams or at worst 4 of them losing to CIN or DEN. So I say they will go 11-5 with Farve.
The Bucs play NO, CAR, and ATL twice. They should beat ATL both times and then at best split vs NO nad CAR. Then they play at CHI, DEN, DAL, KC, DET. They should go at lest 2-3 in away games, I'll give them a close with vs DET. Then They play GB, SEA, MIN, SD, and OAK at home. Ill give them 1-2 wins at home. So i think they will go 6-10 this season.
Know lets take a look at the Jets Offensevie starters. On the O-line they will have D'Brick, Mangold, Woddy, Faneca, and Morre. At WR they will have Coles, Cotchery, and Smith. At halfback they will have Jones and Washington. At fullback Richerdson. At TE either Baker, Keller, or Franks.
For the Bucs on the O-line they have Joesph, Trueblood, Faine, Sears, and Penn. At WR they have Galloway, Stovall, and Bryant. AT halfback they have Graham, Dunn, nad Bennett. A FB they have askew and at TE they have Smith.
The o-line i will give to the Jets, The WR i will give to the Jets as well. The RB i will give to the Bucs. FB and TE will go to the Jets as well meaning the Jets have the better offensive team.
The better offensive team and the weaker schedule means that Farve should be pryain to go to the Jets, but hes not.

the bucs system is far better for favre.what are the jets gonna do change there whole offense to bretts ability?not to mention the whole offense would have to start over.a high price for another loseing season, and for a player who is gonna just play one more year.

I know my spelling and grammer is the worst you have ever seen but its pretty clear that the Jets have the better schedule as well as the better (not by much) offensive team. The bUcs made the playoffs in the NFC the JV league of the NFL, my high school team could make the playoofs in the NFC (ok maybe not).

Thanks for the blog, and for starting us out by thinking through the schedules and personel. I disagree with your thoughts on Brett's potential impact on the schedules, though. As a Packer fan, I've observed that Brett will, on average, win you two games and lose you one. ...and there's just absolutely no predicting which games will be which. He specializes in giving fans ulcers trying to figure him out.

I've been a Packer fan for over 30 years. I have ALWAYS had at least one room in my house decorated completely in Packer stuff. This week, I took it all down... all the posters and banners and magazine and paper articles... I took the bumper stickers off my car. Packer management has taken something I have loved for 30 years and trashed it.
Tomorrow I will be buying NY Jet merchandise. I won't spend another dime on Packer merch, or cheer for them again until Thompson is gone. I am now a Jets fan.
When I read this blog I was excited. I thought-- huh, maybe Favre does have a chance to succeed here! He wanted to play for The Pack and make another Super Bowl run. Second choice was the Vikings. The Packers wanted him to just shut up and go away. Second choice was a bad AFC team. Favre finally took the high road and said he'd compromise and consider the Bucs. The team ONCE AGAIN took the low road, and shipped him right where they wanted all along-- a team in a tougher conference, with a 4-12 record, who played the patriots twice a year and the packers 0-- in short, they sent him to the place where he would have the least chance of hurting Ted Thompsons precious legacy. When I read this blog I had hope that he COULD succeed here... but then I realized the blog was written by a biased Jets fan, and that the picture probably isn't so rosey.
But you know what? Screw it. I want to believe. Favre brought the Packers back from a 4-12 record to a 13-3 record last year-- and he will do the same thing for the Jets this year.
Rot in hell Packer management! Whats on your calendar for tomorrow? Digging Vince Lombardi's corpse up from his coffin and dancing on his bones? Taking Reggie Whites jersey from the hall of fame and using it as toilet paper? Come on! The bar has been raised! Let's see what you got to desecrate packer icons. You people who have been there for 3 years are SO much more important that these people!!!!
Go Favre! I will watch every game and give full support.
