The Favre saga ended not 20 minutes ago with the future Hall of Famer's trade to the Jets for an unknown conditional draft choice, as reported by rotoworld.com (aka, one of the most accurate rumor/ fantasy sites out there):

Brett Favre-QB-PackersAug. 6 - 11:49 pm et FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer reports that the Packers have traded Brett Favre to the Jets.
This might finally be over. The compensation isn't known, but it's believed to be a single draft pick that increases in value depending on Favre's success in New York. He should immediately step in as a starter, and the team will likely have to release Chad Pennington to make space under the salary cap.

Congratulations Jets fans. NOW you can finally have some merit when saying your team may be a playoff contender.
