In the end it came to a trade the very same team who launch Brett's career, destroyed it by trading him to the New York Jets ... Not that I'm complaining getting Favre no doubt has upgraded the Jets chances of advancing this year, I mean the Jets though Playoffs even before Brett but now this will truly help New York. Now where does this leave us with Chad Pennington? Well according to ESPN they say he will be released however T&R mentions that he could be a possible trade to the Vikings either way the Jets are getting rid of a huge hit to their cap space (and Tannebaum told ESPN that Chad would be gone by 4 P.M. today which means we won't even get to see him play tonight) however it will be sad to see Chad go.

Think about it despite all the injuries, Chad was like the "face" of the team and he was always there through all the injuries and then seeing him go just like that it will be sad and it kind of makes me nervous despite getting Favre, Clemens as his back-up makes me a tad uneasy but knowing that Clemens at least knows what he is doing because he got all that playing time last year helps and the fact that he has been working on accuracy. Ainge no doubt will either be moved to third or fourth with Ratliff ... However I can't complain too much, Favre is a great addition to the team and will no doubt be able to get things going in New York which means watch out New England.

This trade has it's up's and down's for now the Jets have to give up a 4th round pick that increase as the Jets record and Brett's role increases and of course Pennington leaving. Despite what others say I think this is the best for everyone involved now everyone can stop hearing "Bring back Brett," the Packers can now "move on" and the Jets can now work with Favre who could take the Jets all the way.

I will miss Chad but if Brett catches on with this team, then the Jets are good enough to at least contend for the playoffs.

The Jets are my #2 team, so I'm fine with this trade. But yeah, I like Chad, and hopefully he can find a new home. And maybe Favre can make another playoff run.
