I was just thinking, isn't Brett Favre in a Packers jersey on the cover of Madden 2009? Well, if thats the case, will they change the cover to a Jets jersey? Or maybe splice it in half, with half Jets/half Pack? And then theres the Madden curse. The down year after getting put on the cover.
My guess, is that Favre will take longer than a month, and longer than 5 months to really learn the offense. By the time, he really starts to get comfortable with the receivers and backs, and tight ends, it may be the end of the season. Unless the west coast offense in Green Bay and NY are very similar, and wording of plays very similar, it may take this guy a wasted season to be a better QB than Pennington. I could be wrong, but thats the way it looks to me at the moment.
I liked every move this team made up until this point. But I am really dissappointed in the acquisition of Brett Favre. Because the guy is a good player with a strong arm, why do you have to trade away draft picks and Chad Pennington? I didn't go to the summer practices, but I strongly believe that a Chad Pennington with 3 years of experience in Shottenheimer's system, is better than Brett Favre with 1 month in the system. Only time will tell, but I'd rather see the NY Jets play a game, than the impostor mercenary group that is being bought.........er brought in.

What will the long term plans be for the Jets? Favre may only be able to play most every down for another 3 years.

Yeah, Pennington bled for the Jets. ...that time he dragged himself off the field so that the team wouldn't have to waste a time out... Gutsy.
...and the fans booed him, of course.
It'll be really interesting to see how the Jets fans react to Brett.
