Look, Colorado State is always all-in when it comes to effort against Colorado when the two progams meet but the overall talent level has been slipping in Ft. Collins so any subtraction before what might be a closely contested alley fight is gonna hurt.
Being a team player, sophomore cornerback DeAngelo Wilkinson, demoted to goat, has been suspended indefinitely for breaking a team rule. The season hasn't even started yet and Wilkinson earns a benching. CU isn't immune to breaking team rules, aka stupidity, as highly-loved linebacker recruit Lynn Katoa earned a time in the penalty box for supposedly conducting a science experiment with a rock and a man's face. The Buffs also lost wide receiver wanna-be Markques Simas to uninspired classroom effort.
CU, while hardly USC rich in talent, can better weather a loss of a key performer than Colorado football lite, CSU.
The college game is preferable for many over the paid game but in the pros Wilkinson would be spanked in the clubhouse and out on the field as would Katoa. Simas would play, in practice, but sit on the bench if he couldn't figure out how to navigate his "education."
And you thought being a college coach was all fun in games.
