Paul Anka put those words to a French song over 40 years ago, and then saw Sinatra and Elvis make it a hit for both of them.

It so fits Brett Favre right now...for the wrong reasons.

Pro football's long-running soap opera, "As the Favre Turns", apparently has come to an end. Now, it's "Brett and the Jets"...but I'm thinking the old Four Tops song is more appropriate:

"Now it's the same old song,

but with a different meaning since you've been gone..."

I mean, did anyone really win?? Can any of you honestly say that there's a "winner" in all of this?? Can you??

I'd love to hear J. Hova's take on this, to be honest. But, I wouldn't be doing FanNation a public service if I didn't caution "the man from BK" on this. If any Jets fan thinks Brett Favre is gonna lead you to the promised land...think again.

Think Johnny Unitas in a Chargers uniform...or Jerry Rice in a Seahawks uniform...or even Michael Jordan in a Wizards jersey. It ain't natural. It's not how you want to remember them. Seeing Brett Favre wearing a Jets hat, as he boarded the private plane in Mississippi...is the stench in your mouth starting to get to you??

Maybe I'm just jaded. I took Brett at his word back in March, when he said he was done with football. So did the rest of you. Yet, we've been lied to yet again by a public person.

But this time, it offends me. No matter how anyone tries to spin this, it's like spraying Lysol on a turd. You might get rid of the stench, but the turd's still there. Or better still, like pouring chocolate on a turd and calling it a Snickers bar...once you bite into it, you realize it ain't a Snickers bar.

Tell me I'm lying on that...not that I've ever done that, mind you.

Anyway, I'm all out of things to say. Dammit, no barf bag around here...and God, do I need one right about now!!!
