With Brett Favre finally being traded we Packer fans can finally move on.  This isn't necessarily the closure that many of my fellow fans were looking for, but closure nonetheless.  Looking over this trade it's interesting how the Packers protected themselves from Favre being traded to the Vikings.  While I don't see it happening it's still interesting how the Packers protected themselves..and essentially made sure the Jets wont do that.

Will this end the "We want Brett" chants during practices?  I highly doubt that...it's going to take a lot for Aaron to win over his doubters.  The way Aaron has handeled this has been highly impressive.  I don't know what Aaron will have to do to win over the pro Brett group of Packer fans.

It's not like the Packers are going to be bad this year.  From everything that I've read Aaron Rodgers has looked great in practices.  It's not like our defense is going to suddenly start playing poorly.  Or Ryan Grant is going to forget how to run, or Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones and Ruvel Martin aren't going to forget how to cath and run with the football.  Based on that I'm not sure where so many people are down about this team this year?

To all the Jets fans out there, I see why you're all incredibly excited.  I just don't want anyone to discount Mike McCarthy's role in Favre's success a year ago.  McCarthy consistently put together solid game plans..and basically whenever we threw the ball deep it was always calculated.  Will Eric Mangini do the same?  I'm not a Jets fans obviously.  So, I don't know if the Jets will be willing to take the calculated risks and will do what McCarthy did to eliminate Favre's gunslinging, for the most part.

No one was right and no one was wrong during this.  Both sides made mistakes..that is clearly apparent.  That doesn't change the fact that Brett Favre will always be a Packer in my mind.  Every single one of his accomplishments came in a Packer uniform.  I'll always remember Favre as a Packer, whenever anyone asks me about Brett Favre I'll always say that he was an amazing quarterback to watch..and it was an honor to watch him play.   What are your thoughts about Favre and this whole situation.

Its another HOF QB ending his career in a different jersey. Like SF after Montana left, I think GB will do very well this year with Rodgers, because I really believe he's a lot better QB than people think. As for Favre, he will help the Jets be better, but that won't be good enough. Without the receivers like he had this past year in GB, I've got to wonder how all those Jets fans will feel about this deal when the INT's start coming.

And when its said and done - seems like they will be too bitter at each other for Brett to sign the ceremonial 1-day contract to end his career as a Packer. Which is too bad for everybody.

My thoughts.....well I have ordered a Favre Jets jersey! Ted Thompson's future hinges on the are of his Aaron Rodgers...good luck with that Ted...moron.

J E T S........jets jets jets!

No one knows how good Ted Thompson has done in the drafts, and they won't accept that. Thompson has done exceptionally well scouting and drafting.

Brett will improve the Jets. He'll get them to 8-8, which is better than their 4-12 record last year.

It's simple; The Jets with Favre and without Pennington are improved. The Packers with Rodgers and without Favre have gotten worse. In what will probably be remembered as the most vivid example of a team cutting off it's nose to spite it's face, the Packers will long be remembered as the team which willingly forfeited an excellent shot at a Super Bowl in order to wrest control of the team from a HOF qb who has actually won a championship and stamp it with the image of a coach and general manager who have won exactly nothing between them! Welcome back to the pre-Favre seasons of futility, Packer nation.

Thug I agree with you..I think both will end up not too bad. LP..he's done well...I can't wait to see Justin Harrell out on the field.

In Perspective...I don't see how you can say that the Packers are worse without Favre. It's as I wrote..all of the other pieces are there and they'll all continue to do what they do. Let's not forget the key piece to this puzzle, Mike McCarthy. You can't just discount his game planning from a year ago. He did a fantastic job. He's going to do the exact same thing with Aaron Rodgers...Brett Favre has to get used to a new system that he's not accustomed to. I know it's not as difficult as people are making it out to be. But, Mike McCarthy did an amazing job of utilizing Favre..and trying to take the spotlight away from his weaknesses..and tried to put the spotlight on his strengths. Will Eric Mangini be able to do those things...Jets fans better hope so..because other wise all the Jets fans are going to see 29 interception Favre.
