With Brett Favre finally being traded we Packer fans can finally move on.  This isn't necessarily the closure that many of my fellow fans were looking for, but closure nonetheless.  Looking over this trade it's interesting how the Packers protected themselves from Favre being traded to the Vikings.  While I don't see it happening it's still interesting how the Packers protected themselves..and essentially made sure the Jets wont do that.

Will this end the "We want Brett" chants during practices?  I highly doubt that...it's going to take a lot for Aaron to win over his doubters.  The way Aaron has handeled this has been highly impressive.  I don't know what Aaron will have to do to win over the pro Brett group of Packer fans.

It's not like the Packers are going to be bad this year.  From everything that I've read Aaron Rodgers has looked great in practices.  It's not like our defense is going to suddenly start playing poorly.  Or Ryan Grant is going to forget how to run, or Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones and Ruvel Martin aren't going to forget how to cath and run with the football.  Based on that I'm not sure where so many people are down about this team this year?

To all the Jets fans out there, I see why you're all incredibly excited.  I just don't want anyone to discount Mike McCarthy's role in Favre's success a year ago.  McCarthy consistently put together solid game plans..and basically whenever we threw the ball deep it was always calculated.  Will Eric Mangini do the same?  I'm not a Jets fans obviously.  So, I don't know if the Jets will be willing to take the calculated risks and will do what McCarthy did to eliminate Favre's gunslinging, for the most part.

No one was right and no one was wrong during this.  Both sides made mistakes..that is clearly apparent.  That doesn't change the fact that Brett Favre will always be a Packer in my mind.  Every single one of his accomplishments came in a Packer uniform.  I'll always remember Favre as a Packer, whenever anyone asks me about Brett Favre I'll always say that he was an amazing quarterback to watch..and it was an honor to watch him play.   What are your thoughts about Favre and this whole situation.
