In last weeks volume 1, I got your fantasy drafting wheels turning. This week I looked to put the pedal a little closer to the floor as you and I drive closer to our drafts. Round two of my sleepers and value picks is a result of many, many more hours of searching the web for info, some of your suggestions and comments, watching any pre-season games I can and scanning box scores.

Lets not waste any more time. Here you go.

Quarterbacks

Tavaris Jackson QB (MIN) - As both a Viking fan and guys who plays in a two QB league, I am very encouraged by T-Jacks first action in the pre-season. The play calls were almost all passes - 7 straight plays to start the game - and Tavaris was able to move the ball well. He had a few questionable throws but overall he and the receiving corp looked very solid against the Seattle first teamers.

With the first teams still playing early, one play in the redzone stood out, which to me bumps up T-Jack a few notches. The whole defense keyed on AP - which will happen ALOT - meanwhile T-Jack bootlegged right and threw a perfect little dump pass to a wide a open FB Thomas Tapeh for a TD.

A couple more performances like that and he could creep in the QB2 territory. At this point, I would say he is definitely worth a flier in the late rounds if you have any room for a third QB.More...

Running Backs

DeAngelo Williams RB (CAR) - Value pick fore sure. Going late in most drafts (in the RB3 range). Coaches have been commenting on him becoming more vocal and more of a leader in the locker room. You could get a solid RB2 for the price of a RB3 -RB4. Look for his value to start creeping up after 9 carries for 55 yards and 2 redzone td's in his first preseason game.

Ray Rice RB (BAL) - The combination of McGahee having knee problems and - new offensive coordinator - Cam Camerons reputation for making backs successful (you may be familar with LaDanian Tomlinson and Ronnie Brown last year) are just a few reasons this guys has been slowly popping up on everyones radar.

If you take McGahee this guy is a foresure handcuff. If you don't have McGahee, Rice might be a nice steal in a later round to stash on the roster. Also, encouraging for you PPR guys, 4 catches in his pre-season debut.

Tim Hightower RB (ARI) - Edgerrin sucks in the redzone lately. Did you know he had 60 touches inside the redzone last year and was only able to come away with 7 scores (not good unless you have the Arizona kicker). If the first pre-season game is any indication, perhaps the Arizona coaching staff sees the same thing. Hightower, working with the first team 0ffense, scored from the 1. Short yardage TD vulture in the making? We'll see.

You will want to stop by my blog to see the rest of this weeks 2008 Fantasy Football Sleepers and Value picks. I have a few wide recievers, a tight end and a defense that you may be surprised to see.
