Yesterday in the Cube at about 11:30 pm Eastern time Jason Lezak of the United States overcame a body-lenght deficit to the Record 100M freestyle holder and frenchman in the lane next to him. Phelps got out to a good start and Dale Webber followed it up and broke away from the pack but it was Cullen Jones who lost the lead to make the race intersting. But in the end of the 4x100 M relay it was the United States out touching the Frenchman who earlier stated they would crush the Americans on the gold medal stand in the ned. That also marks the second gold medal of his two events so far in the Olympics. He will swim the 200M Freestyle tonight in the final.
Also the womens gymnastics teams for China and USA had some rough routines and some good ones and they both ended up in the 1-2 spot for the final with China as the number 1 team in both mens and womens gymnastics as well. The USA will have to step it up to podium for mens becuase they finished 6th in the qualifiers on Saturday night.
More swimming was when the United States medaled in the womens 100M butterfly with a silver and Hansens last Olympic event ebded up in a 4th place finish barely getting out-touched by his German rival. And with that, Katie Hoff was robbed of her first Olympic gold after getting a silver in the event starting way in fromt of the pack to start the race off.
Today will be more volleyball, prelims for swimming and there will be another Phelps race as he swims the 200 Free and goes for gold medal number 3.
