The Pittsburgh Steelers signed QB Byron Leftwich to a one year deal as backup Steelers QB worth approximately $605,000 on sunday. He was chosen over QB Daunte Culpepper, who also visited the Steelers training camp on sunday. Leftwich reportably felt very comfortable w/ the deal the Steelers offered him.
Leftwich, formerly plagued w/ a severe ankle injury in the past, appeared to be in excellent physical condition. Depending on his future play and the circumstances surrounding the situation, Leftwich may or may not ramain as a Steeler when Charlie Batch finally does return from his collarbone injury. "It is what it is....."
Looking foreward to see if Leftwich will take to the field this thursday night vs. the Bills.....
The Steelers also brought in 36 year old punter Mitch Berger on sunday as well. Berger has 13 years NFL experience and is a graduate of Colorado...
