Just understand that the stats are fact and the rest is just my opinion. Last update was about 16 Jul. New stats are in blue.

Kosuke Fukudome (Cubs) Average: ,279/.269, RBI's: 36/42, HRs: 7/8, OBP: .383/.369, SB: 8/10, K's: 70/85

Geovany Soto (Cubs) Average: .288/.281, RBI's: 56/63, HRs: 16/17, OBP: .369/.359, SB: 0/0, K's: 84/98

Jair Jurrjens (Braves) W/L 9-4/11-7, ERA: 3.00/3.18, HRs: 8/8, HITS: 105/139, BB: 41/51, K's: 81/103, IP: 111/144

Evan Longoria (Rays) Average: .275/278, RBI's: 53/71, HR'S: 16/22, OBP:.348/.352, SB: 6/7, K's: 82/102

Jacoby Ellsbury (Boston) Average: 269/269, RBI's: 27/33, HRs: 5/7, OBP: .340/331, SB: 35/38, K's: 47/59

The following were dropped from last month:

Hiroki Kuroda (Dodgers) He hasn't shown that he can be consistant in his pitching

Blake DeWitt (Dodgers) sent to minors on 26 Jul

The race in my opinion has come down to 4 players: Soto, Ellsbury, Jurrjens, Longoria

I am reluctent to choose a pitcher over an everyday player so my opinion, my pick is Evan Longoria

UPDATE: Evan Longoria was place on the DL with a fractured wrist, retroactive to 9 Aug. Hope its not serious.

WHERE IS DAVID MURPHY??????

Go look at his numbers and get back to me....

Sorry about that, when I fist check him out I miscounted his at bats and thought he had 130 since 2006, but only had 127. He is certainly in the running for ROY as he lead the AL in hits and RBI by a few. He was just placed on the DL, so hope that doesn't hurt. I'll keep him in mind.

Your pick for ROY is on the DL effective two days ago? That doesnt sound like much of a publicity stunt.

Cass - your right, I'm hoping he can come back the last month and be effective.

Soto manages the Cubs pitching staff like a seasoned catcher. Soto hands down.
