West Point exists to produce US Army officers. Period. I don't feel bad for Campbell, or couldn't care less about how this might affect recruiting. Talent never was what Army Football was all about anyway. It's about making the most with what you've got. That's what makes it special. You want talent and stars? Go watch the SEC. You want to see football played as a team? Watch Army Football.

I think that the guy should have been allowed to play in the NFL or at least been given a shot at it. Look, you want to talk about things that will always be there, how bout OBC. Yea that will always be there. How bout another freaking deployment to Camp Victory or LSA Anaconda. The Army isn't going anywhere and if this guy gets a shot to play in the NFL let the guy take it. I went to OBC in 96 and had 14 guys from yoos-ma in my platoon, guess how many are still in the Army? You got it, about 3. These guys do about 4 years and corp. America is flashing the 6 figure salaries. This guy could have done his time at a MEPS station or as a recruiter and served his country just as well as the 11A's out there. Believe me I've done both and I wouldn't blame the guy one bit.
