2 weeks between blogs on this place is too long, even for me. But, I wanted to be sure whether the Nationals' recent win streak was a sign of things to come...or simply a mirage.
It's a mirage.
There's really not much else I can say, to be honest. The trick now is for the Nats to avoid 100 losses. That particular Rubicon doesn't need to be crossed.
Meanwhile, as I wait for the NL East blog to be created--as soon as Anthony E. can find a Marlins blogger, I guess--I'll take a moment to say a few words on the Tampa Bay Rays. Mainly, are they for real?? Apparently they are.
Here we are, mid-August, and look who sits atop the AL East. Who would've thought we could actually see both the Red Sox and Yankess (potentially) miss the postseason in the same year?? Somebody research that for me, OK?? It's been awhile, I guarantee you.
Anyway, back to Tampa. The culture has been changed there, make no mistake. Hell, I'm just about ready to pull for them to win the World Series this year. I really thought they'd tank before now, but it looks like I've been proven wrong.
