It's a great day to be a Cav's fan. We finally made a deal, that will actually help us. Here is the deal:Cleveland will send shooting guard Damon Jones to Milwaukee and forward Joe Smith to Oklahoma City.Milwaukee also will get point guard Luke Ridnour and forward Adrian Griffin from Oklahoma City.Oklahoma City, formerly known as the Seattle SuperSonics, also gets Desmond Mason, the athletic small forward, from the Bucks. We receive the missing piece(in my opinion) that can get us over the top. Mo Williams of the Bucks.

While Williams was not the Buck that any of us expected to be a Cav during the offseason in hindsight it looks like a better move. To acquire Michael Redd we would have needed to deal either Daniel Gibson or Anderson Varejo, possibly both, and they each have solid future's as studs for the Cav's. This was we lost one role player in Joe Smith, who was again anyway, and basically a cheerleader in Damon Jones, and both had big contracts.

Now lets look at Williams. He is not a pure point guard, but is a solid passer who can be a quality #2 option in an offense and create his own shot. Last year he had 17.2ppg, and 6.1 astpg, but the number that impressed me the most is 48%, that is his shooting percentage, which for a PG, is very high. He clearly has good shot selection, and will be a great addition for the Cav's. In fact when healthy I think Williams is a top 10 PG, and one of the more underrated ones in the NBA.

Williams will be the #2 option on the Cav's after LeBron, and will start at the point. Williams is only 25 so that gives this core group of young players to build around. Daniel Gibson, Lebron, Mo Williams, Anderson Varejeo, Delonte West (if resigned), J.J Hickson, and possibly if they develop well Darnell Jackson, and Sasha Pavlovic. I'll take that group of players as the Cav's future any day, especially now with the addition of Williams. I think that Williams is a perfect fit for a LeBron team, because Williams is not a pure OG, and that allows LBJ to have his freedom passing/ handling the basketball, with Williams also taking some of those duties. I think the next thing the Cav's need to do is sign Delonte West, there have been rumors of him heading to Europe if he doesn't get a better contract offer, and I feel we need to sign him, he was key in our run last year, and I see him as a decent #2, and solid #3 option in the future, and now he can focus on scoring more, as he will likely be playing more 2 guard, now that Williams, and Gibson are able to play PG.

Right now this is how I'd rank the top 8 of the East.
1
2.(if they sign Iggy)
3.
4.(if they sign Josh Smith, and I know it is a bold prediction)

All in all, the East will be much improved next year
