UF's offense was like no other ealry in the year and again later in the year. (not including the bowl really where they had to play catch up)There was a modest slump in the middle, but it didn't hurt that those were against great D's like LSU and AU. UGA's defense was starting to gel after being slightly inconsistent , but very good early.
I was listening to Steve Young talk about offensive schemes like the run-n-shoot a few days ago. He said that eventually the reason it started to get less effective because the DE's kept getting faster and they'd just be on top of the QB in 1.5 seconds ( See UGA vs. Hawaii and likely UF vs. Hawaii in the opener).
I wonder what the UF offensive stats will look like this year with the D coordinators having more film ( I am discounting the film they had with Leak for obvious reasons).I think there are some good D's they face on the schedule too. LSU and AU again, UGA may be the fastest. Even Miami could be good on D, though not likely early in te season. It will be just as interesting to see if they can keep up that offensive success, as it will to see if the D' can stop balnced teams on offense.

that's a very good question.
I think that Meyer is very creative, so he'll keep his offense in it for a while, unfortunately.
I also think that he could leave Florida to go to the NFL before we can find out if the spread option has longevity.

good point LSU. The defense will be better, but will it be championship caliber level better?
Urban Meyer isn't known for his defense; that's why Florida is lucky to still have Charlie Strong.
