From TSN this afternoon:
The newspaper article says well-connected sources have stated that Sundin has expressed his interest in playing for the Blueshirts. The Post report went on to say that Sundin's agent, J.P. Barry has been in constant communication with front-office personnel from the Rangers.

When contacted by TSN, Barry denied there have been any increased discussions with the Rangers. He told TSN that he has spoken to both the Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers but also has had long discussions with Maple Leafs general manager Cliff Fletcher and Vancouver Canucks general manager Mike Gillis. Barry said there are six teams interested in Sundin's services for next season.
There should be no suprise here. Larry Brooks is stirring the pot. Or maybe his sources are correct and Barry is

1. hiding the truth
2. has no damned clue as to what's going on, and Claes Elefalk is negotiating with NYR behind his back.

The very-private Sundin has not made up his mind yet and that is the bottom line. That's the one constant in this whole **** saga. The other is that 6 teams are interested.
The Brooks rumor is almost insane just considering the cap-limitations of both the Rangers and Flyers. The Flyers are well over the cap already. Those 2 teams would have to make some serious moves to clear cap space for Sundin. It would be ludicrous for them to do so. Then again, we are talking about the Rangers. You can't always predict what they are going to do.
