Phelps gets 8th, Jamica sweeps 100m | Olympics: Beijing 2008's Blog

| 09:18 AM ET 08.18 | Michael Phelps won his 8th olympic medal in the 4x100 medley relay to break Mark Spitz's 36 year old record. Usain Bolt easily won the 100m final in a record time of 9.69. In the last 15 meters he was already beating his chest and showing off. The time easily couldve been faster. Tyson Gay was unable to qualify for the 100m final. He will not run in the 200m due to his injury in trials. American Walter Dix was able to get the Bronze. Sally Ann Frasier and her teamates Stewart and Simpson were able to sweep the womens 100m. Frasier had destroyed her competition while Stewart had to duck her head to try and beat her teammate Simpson to the line. Video evidence proved that Stewart and Simpson tied.
