Hey Fannation, welcome to another of my blogs. I'm going to reveal something that alot of people have asked me. I'm going to reveal my age. Drumroll please...

*****************************************************************

Back on topic. My age is...13. If you don't believe me, I don't care. Hahaha! Yup, that's my age. I'm 14 this December though, so lucky me. I don't know that many teenagers on this site unfortunately, but I bet plenty are out there.

Now on to the main topic, my new image. Most of you people don't know this, but I'm from India. But...when I was 2, I moved to the Bay Area, and I've lived here ever since. Because of that, I sort of fell out of touch with my Indian culture. Actually, that's putting it mildly, I didn't know a word of the language, I didn't know any festivals, and I even laughed at some of the traditions. However, for all of you that don't know, Indian Independence day was August 16th, and by watching some festival my parents made me go, it finally hit me how out of touch I was with my culture. They started singing the National Anthem, and I asked my mom what song was that. She just smiled, and then she asked me "Do you know why we're here?" And, I didn't know. I didn't know my own countries most important day of the year! I finally tried to learn a bit about my culture, after 14 years. I know a bit more now, and now I'm trying to learn all the important days of my culture.

In honor of that, I put up my image as the Taj Mahal, something I knew nothing about for 13 years, despite it being the symbol of my country. I'm learning a bit about it now. Another embarassing thing happened involving this building. In school, our teacher was teaching about the Taj Mahal. She asked me to talk about it, since it was part of my culture. Obviously, if I said no, it would sound stupid, so I went there and did something even stupid. I knew nothing about the Taj Mahal, so all I could say was "Umm, Umm, Uhh..." and so on. Luckily, no one laughed, and they understood why I didn't know much, but it was still really embarassing.

Alright, that's it for my blog. I really want to thank all my readers, since this was my first blog truly going into my life and they read it. Okay that's it. Thanks for reading, and see you next time with my upcoming NBA Chat Club. Alright, bye.

Hey this was a great blog, and even more amazingly that it was written by a 13 year old. You should submit this to your teacher for "extra credit" LOL

Very good job. You write well for a 13 year old. Although, that's kinda hard for me to judge since I'm only 15 haha.

Good blog, ahung. Yoda's right; it's never too late to get in tough with your roots.

Considering that I am exactly twice your age, I am impressed by your skills. I couldn't write as well as you 13 years ago.

Anyway, it's great to hear that you are getting in touch with your roots. I got so in touch with mine that I applied for citizenship. It just kind of happens...

Thank you for sharing a little insight into your personal cultural enlightenment. It is always amazing the depth and richness of our individual histories when we finally get around to delving further into our past and the family ancestry...

Good job young man. Most people your age aren't aware of the importance of written communication skills. Stay with it. With internet access, you can learn as much as you'll ever want to know about India or anything else.
