Now I know many of you may not be fondest of this man but it's necesarry to respect this man in his death.The Executive director of the players director has passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 63(1945-2008).He may be remembered by people who think he was stubborn and not out for the players rights, many veterans felt this way, but he brought the league to unprecedented new heights.He helped bring Free Agency into the NFL and behind closed doors was not really all that bad a guy.I remember reading an article from SI that touched on how he was as a person and how everyone else thought of him.

 

With all that's gone on over the past several years it's almost hard to recall that he was a HOF guard from 1967-1981 for the Oakland Raiders.

 

Just take a minute and respect him will you?
