The Rams and Buffs are closing in on kickoff as the end of the summer can't get here quick enough for fans. While some believe Colorado will rout CSU, others are wary of the season opener with so much youth on the Buffs side. But the fact is the Rams can beat CU and with former NFL coach Steve Fairchild on the sideline, CSU will have great knowledge and experience at its' disposal.

For the Rams to win it's going to take gargantuan balls, endurance and knocking the Buffs off stride early and often. If CSU comes out passing and rookie starter Billy Farris can handle the pressure and move the ball into the end zone two to three times in the first half the game gets interesting.

Kyle Bell can be a force running the ball and John Mosure is intriguing but the Rams can't come out and challenge the Buffs on the ground or they will get swallowed up and create blitz situations on Farris. CSU must pass, pass often, mixing routes and moving the chains. Field goals are nice like underwear for Christmas but touchdowns, or toys, are necessary to get that happy feeling -- touchdown, Rams! Scoreboard!

CU general Cody Hawkins is going to march his troops up and down the field on offense and the Rams only hopes are Buff ineptitude with unforced turnovers or cheating (penalties). The Buffs are feeling confident and what was once thought to be a game here is now being forecasted for an autobahn experience with players racing up and down the field.

CSU must pass the Buffs silly and expose the secondary to open up the running game or its' chances of winning are cooked. On defense, the Rams have to be pests, slowing down the Buffs and making them get impatient and hope for turnovers.

Game time for both schools can't get here soon enough.
