About 3 weeks ago around 1 a.m in the morning my cell starts blowing up and it's all family members so the first thing i think is there is an emergency, or maybe someone needs something, well at any rate they are all calling for one reason and it's to tell me we just got a savior for the Jets and it's Favre. Not excited at all because it is 1a.m in the morning and i got my drunk uncle screaming at the top of his newport filled lungs that Brett "the savior'' Favre will be the J-E-T-S starting QB this season! Now dont get me wrong this man is legendary and probably will go down as the top 3 QB's of all time, but lets face it the Packers defense was pretty damn good last season and they rode them pretty much to the NFC chip.
The Jets on the other hand have a decent defense and me personally i dont think Brett has it in him at this age to carry a team like he used to. We dont have Barnett and Hawk to fill up the gaps or even a player like Kampman coming off the end, Shawn ellis wont cut it and i bet the Jets brass hopes they made the right decision in Vernon Gholston. As for our offense we have Thomas Jones who is a decent running back so i guess that could help and Cotchery and Coles are both very good targets but lets face it, it usually takes multiple years to gel with your recivers the way Favre and Driver did.
Basically what im saying is im going to sit back and watch my mediocre team have a mediocre record and watch Brett Favre gunsling everywhere on the field hey at least it should be much more entertaining to see a QB with a cannon for an arm than a water pistol (Chad). So we will go 7-9 or 9-7 at the best in my opinion with as much hope as for making the playoffs as Pats fans had last year that team would be beaten in the super bowl.
